Frequently Asked Questions

GoMaster: You are expected to have a background of in basic data structures and algorithms in C/C++/Java, and also a basic understanding of software systems, database systems, computer networks, and microprocessors. We will be focusing on algorithmic problem solving, C/C++ programming intricacies, software systems, computer networks and database systems during the program. This will not be a repetition of the material typically covered in college courses; rather our approach will be more from a problem-solving viewpoint.

GoMaster: We will cover the most common types of questions typically asked in the interview process of top technology companies. This involves algorithmic problem solving, C/C++ programming intricacies and software systems. We do not explicitly cover soft skills that are typically expected in HR interview rounds, although we will try to provide useful tips based on our industry experience.

GoMaster: Definitely! Data Structures and Algorithms are the fundamental building blocks for any tech interview preparation and we will cover this in quite some detail. Note that we do expect a basic understanding of data structures and algorithms in C/C++/Java, at the level of an introductory college course. We will also cover the important aspects related to software systems and C/C++ programming as part of the program.

GoMaster: This program is oriented towards acing the technical interviews of top technology companies. We will be focusing on thinking through a given problem, articulating the thought process clearly and then translating the solution into working code. There is some overlap with competitive programming here that involves mastering data structures and algorithms. However, in competitive programming, the focus is more on coming up with a quick solution to programming problems in the fastest possible manner. We will also cover the important aspects related to software systems and C/C++ programming as part of the program.

GoMaster: You are welcome to register for the program if you are familiar with data structures and algorithms at the level of an introductory college course, and are willing to put in the effort to advance your skills and knowledge.

GoMaster: Having a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms is definitely a plus. However, we will also be touching on other topics such as software systems, C/C++ programming intricacies, computer networks and database systems, all of which are essential for a top tech company interview. If you do not have any background in these subjects, you will not get the full benefit out of the program.
